Reg plate law - Is adding text under my registration # legal

I'm creating a number plate as my existing plates are looking a bit old. I was going to create blank plates, i.e. just the registration number without a slogan/car sales company/number plate manufacturer. However I am interested to know if there is any law around adding a personalised slogan in small writing below/above registration number?

There are laws in relation to what must be on there & only what can be on there.

As long as the slogan is below your reg. number, and consists of the plate maker's name and postcode, you'll be just fine.

My workmobile has our company name, logo and phone number under the reg, plus a slightly modified EU badge to the left.

My 2004 TVR came with dealership badge/logo on the left instead of the GB/EU sign, and their details underneath. I don't see why I should replace or modify what was fitted as standard - even if it is not strictly legal.

Both plates are otherwise standard fonts, spacing etc so I doubt they would generate even a flicker of interest unless I was stopped for something else.

Mine failed it's test because I'd stuck Union Jacks over the sh***y EU symbols.

'You can only have a different flag if it's laminated in at manufacture.' New regs.

I was stopped for inciting racial hatred for have the Union flag painted on the bonnet of my MGB. Was an intersting conversation until a BMW Mini went by with the flag on its roof.

Put the blame where it belongs. The EU devises, the UK simply implements ... albeit often carried to the extreme - Streaky

Except if you get pulled for something else eg speeding yoou may get done for having an illegal plate too

The EU gets the blame for far too much IMHO!

Straight bananas? UK interpreted an EU request for a common standard. Rest of the EU did FA about it!
2000 - EU said milking parlours had to meet strict guidelines of hygiene and cleanliness by 2002 - UK implemented it with immediate effect, France still allowed old style parlours to continue until the farmer retired, as long as it was within 5 years of the legislation!!

It's our own government that is kicking us to death, while blaming the EU!

That's because French farmers don't tolerate any . Upset them and the roads and ports get blocked.
Plus France is still a far more agricultural country than the UK and they care about their food. Not biting the hand that feeds you comes to mind.
