Just watched newsnight's report of Mr Harriet Harperson being parachuted into the "safe" labour seat of Erdington, leapfrogging over three other local labour party candidates, and completely ignoring the push for all women shortlists.

The Presenter, Gavin Esler, described Mrs Harman as a hyopocrite basically forcing her husband onto the Erdington Labour party whilst conveniently forgetting her desire and enthusiasm for womens only shortlist.

At the end of the interview Mrs Harman, who was in the US on another expenses paid juncket to set up a womens only section of the UN, said to the interviewer that she took exception to the "Hypocrisy" charge and asked him to withdraw it.

Mr Esler turned to the camera "In other news................."

So perhaps the BBC , or at least some of the presenters, know how the common man feels.

Cheers,

Tony

And yet labour still claim to be the party of the many rofl

Many what, snouts in the trough?

If any of the political parties really wanted to reengage with the public, they could start by accepting the local candidates chosen by the local associations............. but they won’t as then they'd have people interested in representing the views and concerns of their constituents

When did discrimination become OK?

I know not of this term "positive discrimination". I have heard it, but it is an oxymoron.

So far Erdington has had Sion Simon, who is cringeworthy, he did some youtube spoof video that was unfunny as hell, then claimed 21k in rent for his sister's flat, and promptly jacked.

apparently leaving to concentrate on inventing a position of an elected Mayor of b'ham.

and now to be replaced by some trade union ahole who's never seen the town, avoiding all the all women lists his scumbag of a wife planned.

All we need now is Mr Jowell aka Mills going for a neighbouring constituency. As it's less than 10 years before the result would be out, maybe not. Then again he could have accepted the nomination in 2009 not 2010.

I can't believe how the state of politics is now.

What happened to the way the system was created for?

A "common" person to represent the community. How can they do that if they are not part of the community.

I saw it as well, she trotted out some frankly nonsense reasons for this UN womens section and kept repeating "we're still pioneers..." and "there's still so much still to do..." and so much rubbish about how it would make for a cross border womens support network and allow women in one country to support women in another and make it easier for the women policies of one country to implemented in another. Which makes no sense at all. And that it was it for the advancement of womens political agenda, I suspect that its supposed to be nothing of the sort and esler should have pulled her on that.

Honestly I just don't understand how she gets away with it! She won't be satisfied until a) all men are out of parliament, castrated, with a select few locked up (out of grudging necessity only) in a secure sperm milking facility, as men with testicles are dangerous, at least that's her agenda, or b) someone gives her the rogering/orgasm she's desperately lacking and feeling entitled to (I'm not volunteering)

to whit to notice that dromy had had a complete head transplant from Ginger & bearded in missing out in 97 to the equally nasty but completely different faced arse in 05 and 10? She must have sucked (and only metaphorically) the life & Ginger out of him.

And worst of all the complete in your face fk you prols of harperson in Defending this stitch up on the selection list, was disgraceful. When challenged to retract what he said by esler at the end, rather than ignoring her and thanking her, I wish he'd stopped for moment looked at the camera, then shook his to the viewer, "in other news..." that would have been funny. Frightening how close this stupid cow is to real power (deputy pm must be a none job)

i meant to say "shook his head" although reading it back "shook his cock" might be funnier, given her peculiar politics of (penis) envy.
