Chin up chap. It won't be bad forever. Just take it on the chin and try and keep positive. It could be so much worse smile

At least you know you're doing it right instead of failing at all the interviews. Third time lucky and all that. Get back up on that horse.

Not that one though.

My sympathies - happened to me quite a few times. I hope that you hadn't left another job for it. Chalk it up to experience.

(As an aside - I once went for an interview in Kingston-upon-Thames - got there, interview went great etc then they found out I lived near Manchester - of course the agency had blanked out the contact detailss on my CV). No use - they needed someone local. Argh! rolleyes)

Better than what happened to me, 3 months after interview I start the new job, 7 days later the company lays everyone off, 3 months after that its closed down. Better to hear while you can still stay at work rather than find yourself on the dole except of course you quit your last job...

At my last big corporate employer we withdrew offers from people who had already resigned their previous jobs. I know at least one of them wasn't able to go back to his old job.

I think the employment situation looks extememly wobbly - I thought it would pick up as the New Year started but even people who have hung on to iffy looking jobs for years seem be getting let go now.

I had this happen at a company I was going for a couple of years ago. The following month they rang me up regarding another position, so who knows. At least you've shown you're good enough for them.
