Much more civilized event. I am taking my missus.
Camping at Chateau Chanteloup in pre-erected tents, best grandstand, paddock passes, VIP parking.
The event is held over 3 days in July and boasts participation of over 400 vintage Le Mans cars that raced at the famous 24 hour race from 1923 to 1979.
Six of the Bugatti circuit paddocks will be hosting around 75 cars with each grid racing 65 cars with 10 reserves.
So you get to watch old Bugatti's racing as well as GT40's and Porsche 917's. Lovely.
I have bought my package through Team Langoustine. They have a comprehensive package that saves you the grief. Give them a buzz.

I've been to the past 3 Le Mans Classics (and Le Mans 24 since 1996). Very different feel to Le Mans 24, and also the racing in teams per decade over a 24 hour period is also different, of course.
For Le Mans 24 I prefer a seat in La Sarthe tribune but for Le Classic there is so much pits straight and in-the-pits action all the time that I get seats in a tribune on the outside of the pits straight
Paddock passes are essential: you get right up to all the cars, you can chat to the mechanics, owners, drivers etc. Good for pics too.
Try and spend time where the Bugatti Circuit rejoins the main circuit near the Ford Chicane area: usually you can get right up to the cars as they wait to get out for the next race.
Many car clubs arrange to all park together usually on and around the Bugatti circuit and also on the inside of the Dunlop Chicane area, so well worth a walk around to check out what's parked up.
When I first went there were maybe 35,000 spectators. In 2008 there were around 75,000 I recall. I've seen that 110,000 are predicted for 2010. So, nowhere near as busy as the Le Mans 24, but getting busier each time!
Fewer bars and feeding stations are open but their number increases ecah year.
By the way, I've never camped at Le Mans so I cannot comment on such facilities.
