Have any other X5 owners had problems with the black window surrounds tainting.

The ones on my new X5M have turned all streaky.

Is this a waranty claim?

Any advice would be appreciated

Does it have a sort of oily rainbow effect?

Happens on all "shadow line" trims as far as I know.

You could try polishing and waxing it.

Thats exactly the effect I've tried polishing but it just comes back again. Surely thats not right on a new car?

Hi,
I T-cut the ones on my 55 reg X5 when I bought it last year & then waxed them & although the salesman said it would just come back, so far it still looks good.

Unfortunately it's normal (I agree it shouldn't be).

Do you wax it after polishing? It should protect it and stop it from coming back.
