"Back" takes me to the *top* of the previous page

Time was that when I clicked back I would be taken back to the part of the previous page where I clicked the link. Now it takes me back to the top of the page which is a PITA.

This is happening on Firefox & Chrome on XP and the browser on my Hero.

This is not something we changed intentionally, do you remember when it started happening?

Maybe a month or so ago? Seemed to be about the same time I rebuilt my laptop (but also happening on my phone).

I will check on a couple of other PCs...

ETA - doesn't do it in Firefox on this laptop after all, just in Chrome. Is it a Chrome thing?

No, just tried uksaabs.co.uk (standard phpBB fare) and it works fine.

Nobody else having this problem?

It is working fine in Chrome here as well.

Sounds to me like the whole page isn't loading before you press the back button. So something is still twirling around on the page for the internet.

Most browsers will only go back to the previous position once all the page is loaded, so if this doesn't happen it will cause an issue.
