Has anyone on here ever been on a single parent holiday, i have recently split with my gf, i`m not to sure where thats going at the moment as we are trying to sort things, only time will tell.
I have an 11 year old son and want to take him away this year, somewhere no matter what, especially as i am totally pissed off at the moment with the break up and all.
Been several times abroad with my son on all inclusive holidays when he was younger just the 2 of us to make it easier for me, it was great holidays but it always seems to be families where i felt a bit left out.
So thought if i don`t end up getting back with the ex i might try a single parent holiday.
Sad i know but i have to do something this year with my son even if its just the 2 of us again.
Any other holiday suggestions anyone can think of?

Camping could be a good adventure at that age.

Yeh, activity holidays and camping.

All inclusive resort holidays bored me to tears when I was that age.

how about the pair of you doing a PADI course for a week in the Caribbean, great father and son thing to do and something he will remember forever, also huge bragging rights at school for him

or maybe a sailing course if neither of you have this under your belt

Done camping twice with him before and twice total washouts put me off a bit. But thanks anyway. To be honest i have been thinking more on the lines of a single parent holiday abroad somewhere where i can relax and meet new people in a similar position to myself.

Just be careful confusing what you want and what would be good/fun for him.

Good advice. Why don't you come up with some suggestions and let him choose. A Mark Warner/Sunsail type holiday with lots of activities and "youth" clubs might appeal.
