Hello there.....The story so far
I work as a nurse with an agency and have been working with the same client for 2 years so i am classed as an employee. In December of 09 i was asked in to the office and informed that i was to be suspended on full pay pending an investigation into Gross misconduct...Allegations stating that I had be conductiong a relationship with my client( all lies) Anyway there is a team of 9 staff who work alongside me. I work 3 nights on my own and 2 days alongside a carer. Out of all the statements taken from my co-workers 4 state that there is a possibility that this alledged relationship could be taking place whilst the rest say no it isnt. No-one has asked the client as her mental state is not always good. I may add that i am a happily married woman with 3 kids and i take my work very seriously. All i feel i am guilty of is working too hard and putting the clients needs first! All of the allegations are cruel gossip!
Anyway I was given a date for a disciplinary hearing in January which was then cancelled 2 days prior. After a further 3 weeks i was asked into the office again and seen by another brqanch manager who informed me that they would have to speak to all staff again to be fair to me...I gave them a 4 page statement of answers at this time. Answering all the things said by the co-workers. Anyway they said they'd be in touch very soon. Two weeks later there was still no word so i called the manager who saw me last who stated that they had finished the investigation and were trying to decide what to do next. They claimed they were short staffed but would be intouch soon. That was 2 weeks ago I am still waiting with no word!.
I have no idea what to expect, it is not fair that gossip can cause all this stress. What are the odds of getting back to work?

They certainly haven't done things in a timely manner, suggest you speak to ACAS ( http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1461)

Hi thanks for that info, I have been in touch with ACAS on the phone a couple of weeks ago, but said that I had to wait until after a disciplinary hearing before they could advise further. I also spoke to CAB who advised me to wait a further two weeks before contacting them.
