Hello all, currently have a 4.2 Cerb and it is due it's yearly service, having only done about 2000 miles since the last service. Anyway I am due to go away end of May until Nov this year and the car will be safely locked in the garage (garage is alarmed) and plugged into a trickle charger, so I am thinking of waiting until I get back to get it serviced as I will not do many miles in it before I depart anyway (as away before the 6 month trip too!), whatb do people reckon, as surely it will be silly to get it serviced then leave it for 6 months?

Thanks

Lee

Toss a coin Lee smile Whatever might happen or not happen with sitting in a Garage for 6 months, will happen wether it has just been serviced or not. I'd have it resting on axle stands rather than sitting on the tyres and suspension for so long.

Yeah wait until you get back. nothing bad will come from it if not driven, not in 6 months anyway!

I would agree on the axle stands though, would be worth investing in these rather than the service!

Agree with the axle stands comment.

Although a cheap set of wheels may be better as people have raised concerns with suspension being on full droop for long periods.

Stick the stands under the hubs - it saves the tyres from flatspotting while keeping the suspension in its normal position.

Thanks all, that is my thoughts anyway. I have a set of normal 16 inch wheels to put the Cerb on when away, as currently on Spiders. May well leave it on axle stands?

After seeing some other posts that's not a bad idea!
