Well I put the crank in with the new shells and as soon as tightening n0.4 cap down it locked the crank up, Rob (v8 racing) kindly came over and had a look and ended up takin the block away for a line bore. Why do things never run smoothly

Tim, will get some pics of car on the site when its back on the road again,it was only on the road for 3 months in which time it did 1200 miles b4 pullin the motor out for the 5ltr. God knows why coz it was bloody quick and had bugger all traction with a warmed 3.9 let alone a tuned 5ltr! Still i never clamed to be a full deck of cards

Reminds me of Evo's Project MkI Capri with the 5.3 V8. Cost £30k to build, but it's virtually a new car. I would seriously consider paying that much for it (especially since all the work's been done).

Yeah, but if you look at the articles over the months, it's had loads done. £8k engine, £2k brakes, £4k exhaust (yes £4k) body prep, paint, build, turreted suspension mounts, race fuel cell, buckets, roll cage welded into bare shell, etc. etc. etc.

I put a RV8 into a mk1 cortina .. many years ago.

It is a tight fit - a real mare around the exhausts and steering column.

Well done - it looks great in there
