Just a note to see who's going. I have been for the last 4 years and has always been a great day out but it will be the first time this year with the Lomax (slow-max) weather permitting. Possible convoy?? I live in knutsford so close to Oulton anyway. linky is here

I take the little one every year, it would be nice to get a group of us there from Pistonheads, it's a good day out with lots of action :-)

I'll keep an eye on this thread as I might be able to attend this. Damon Hill was at the same event last year supporting his son.

I have been thinking about meeting places where everyone can get to with little or no hassle. What about the big service station at junction 20 with the Travel Lodge and Macdonalds? Then its a hassle free run down the A50 and on to the A556 towards Oulton. Another stop off point for those in nearer (maybe the smoker at plumley)?

I'll be there with my old man. Keep an eye open for a laser blue Elise or a gunmetal E92 M3. Great day out and don't forget Superleague at Silverstone is the day before - a full Bank Holiday of motor racing action!

I've met big convoys here in the past, and it's a good first location.

However, to incoporate others coming from other directions it's good to also stop at the Shell petrol station at the crossroads where you would turn left just before Oulton Park, and pick up the second part of the convoy :-)

Good Idea. Although if you go that way the traffic can be a nightmare. What we ussually do is go through Winsford and go in the other entrance on the other side of the track at Deer Leap. There is absolutely no traffic that way and it takes you down some rather twisty lanes. nuts

I'm interested in going to the meet. Am on duty that weekend, so won't know until Sat night if I'll be able to make it. If I can would definately want to go in convoy.

It's always a good day. The Quali and the support races on the Saturday are also good - and usually quieter.

I'll be there both days marshalling in the pits - so no convoy for me - but you'll have a great time - hopefully this year we wont have a blizzard on the saturday!
