Kennel club names

Seeing all the decent names you have come up with in the name that dog thread. I could do with a bit of help. I am getting a border collie puppy called Nacho. I am getting stuck with his KC name. Before the breeders have named and registered my dogs, but this breeder isn't. Any ideas would be fab. It has to be 24 characters of less, and not offensive, or contain the words dog or b

I would have suggested getting Border Collie converted into Latin BUT the on-line thing I just did came up with terminus offensus - hardly suitable.
What about something scottish? How serious do you want to be? I mean, it could be Mc Herder......

Not serious at all. It is not common, but the breeder does not have a kennel name. She has a max of 1 litter a year, so very low scale. She never liked being told what she can/cannot have as a kc name so she lets us register them. As long as we tell her the name, so she can keep an eye on how he is doing if I compete with him.Well, one of the breeders I bought from only has 1 litter every 3 years, but she still has a Kennel Club name....... Mc Herder was because it was originally from the "borders".....
Or you could call it "kum by lass"..
What about waiting for the mutt's personality to come though and then you can register something along those lines?

It can't contain your surname. I would prefer to wait, but I compete with my mum's collie in agility and they have to be registered with the KC even if they go but do not compete. I don't want to leave him at home all day when I am at a show, so need to register him quite early. They are not allowed to go to the show before they are 4 months but just trying to get some ideas at the moment.What about just your family name?!!?

Lol, Wildsea was the Kennel name of my last dog otherwise that would have been a good one, but obviously it has been taken. Yes, nothing worse than the slim possablity of it being called out with a name no one can say. My mum's has got a stupid one at the moment, his only clear was at a UKA show, so they use his pet name. But if he ever manages to go clear in a KC show, I know they will get it wrong although luckily it cannot be pronounced as something rude. Ask me how I know...

So what was the name of yours that couldn't be pronounced?
When it's hand-scribbled by the scorer at the end of the class and then read out by a show secretary with poor eyesight (and forgotten their glasses) it has ended up as all sorts of things over the years! Usually it sounds like some dreadful disease - even if it is said correctly! She is long retired now, and we have chosen much more sensible names for subsequent dogs, so embarrassment is less frequent! Although they still get names wrong half the time, whatever you choose!

Lol, My old boy was Wildsea Kelp, pretty easy you would think but one poor chap at Supadogs had 3 attempts at it. The scorer must have been terrible writing when doing the results. All my pups have my kennel name, followed by a car name beginning with the letter denoting which litter they were from...
My next litter will be the 'E' litter, so I think they will all be Lotus names some-how (don't really want an 'Edsel' as that one is bound to be a disappointment when it grows up!)
