Any good?

Does anyone know a way of getting cheaper tickets?

I've been three times before and it's a good day out. Think of it like ASI, but smaller, friendlier and all about historic racing. Well worth the effort. I'll be meeting my old man down there this year, really looking forward to it.

I'm meeting my old man too! Must be a lads & dads thing...Slowly sideways will be there in force, and Alfa will be the featured marque for their centenary. Shame I've just sold mine! Sunday should be good with bargains to be had at the trade stalls no doubt! Try going through your owners club for cheaper tickets.

It's the bargains on the stalls which are currently worrying my wallet. Should be a good day out though. Have a good time with your old man!

Spotted in the car park today, a black elise with a PH sticker on the back.

I parked next to a 'toy' blue Evo 6.

I went today after missing it for the last few year - I wouldn't bother - poor selection of cars and very much an auto-jumble style event frown Even the "Live Events", that usually contain a who's-who of group B rally cars was very poor....

I quite enjoyed it this year. Mind you I do like a good autojumble, found lots of useful 'stuff' for the old cars.
Bit expensive entry though, and the car park seemed to be miles away this year.

Event not too bad - I think the Rally 'stage' was better than last years from a photography perspective.

Wall of Death is well worth £2.50 - I'll see how the piccies came out and post a couple up here.

What was the autojumble bit like? any decent names there?
I'm thinking of going tomorrow as I need a few bits like silicone hoses etc.
Worth the £20 to get in or not?

Thanks

It's good for bits-n-bobs & second hand items, but e-bay or supplier direct is the way to if you really want to get what you want......

I thought it was much better than previous years. Lots of stands, plenty of awesome machinery, too many opportunities to spend money....

Well I went today and all in a ll a pretty good show, many of the traders are the same ones you see at the kit car show there in May, so was useful for me to get some bits I wanted, nice to see some group B cars in action, although they could do with having a bigger area to run around.
Lots of very nice motors to look at, good that they put TVs up around the place for the F1 too.

However would be good if in the spare room in the halls they invited some more owners clubs of classic/sports cars to exhibit and fill space, or even for PH to get some cars in there?

The main downside though has to be the entry price, £20 is a too steep, £15 is reasonable, £10 I think they'd have had a lot more people through the door, I certainly wouldn't have called it busy there, and many of the traders I spoke to agreed.

Fewer people than last year and I'd say fewer exhibitors as well, although still in the same amount of space. Still a good event and if you pre-book it's cheaper.

A former neighbour of mine had his stand there. He said his missus had a bottle of wine on the Friday evening which cost more than his profits from Friday. Gutted for him. Still, I find it's a pleasant and relaxed event and there were several really interesting cars on display, like the Duckhams Special.
