Right my mate was sold this diff as a

"ZF Plate Diff" for an MA type gearbox (Peugeot 106/Saxo)

The garage came back and said it is nothing like the correct one...

So what my mate wants to know is what the hell it is...

Pics:

After sending a few e-mails I now know it is made by ZF but it deffinately isn't for an MA gearbox

Anybody able to identify it?

As the ones I found via the net told me "we only do comercial" and the other didnt reply...

My mate doesnt want this diff to be a total loss of cash...

It's not the LSD from the Rover BRM 200 thingy that happens to be a near identical gearbox to the PSA MA?

Still drawing a blank frown

After speaking to ZF they think it could be a 3rd party diff using ZF internals as there is not a 10 digit code on the casing itself...

Looks like unless someone recognises it I have a very costly paperweight

Might be a costly paperweight, unless you fancy getting my dimensions for the rough size and the size of the bearing flanges on the end there. That looks like it might go nicely in my renault box with a bit of fabrication work biggrin

When they say it's nothing like, they do know you usually have to grind a little of the casing away to get a plate diff to clear in an MA box, right?

Probably not phillipm

I can get some approx dimensions if they'd be of use, I don't have any verniers I don't think (inherited tools and not sure whats there) but can use a fabric tape to wrap around for approx diameters etc.
