I have now got some more clarification from RAF Cosford. as far as your own insurance goes it is up to you what level of cover you have, but you will need to sign a disclaimer before driving stating that you are aware that you are responsible for removing your vehicle from the station in a reasonable time frame and clearing up any debris if you have an accident. The level of insurance you take is your choice.
