S420 Lumpy at 1500revs

At 1500 revs it feels like an HT problem, then as it hits 2000 it evens out and the dreamboat rides again. No starting or idle problems, or any other problems [for now].
I was wondering if slapping a resistor across the IAT would even this out.
If not has anyone else had this problem?
The car is Jan 1995 S420 with only 73,000 miles covered.
