Ashtray light on 07 Focus ST

Hello all

I recently noticed that the courtesy light in the front ashtray of my 07 Focus ST is always on when the headlights are on, it does'nt matter if the cover is up or down. Is this normal as I don't remember noticing it before and its just been into the dealers for some warranty work?

yer mate my 06 plate, ash tray light is on all the time the lights are on
