As per the title really,
off to Calais at the end of the month for a booze run and were looking at stopping for a night within an hour or 1.5hrs of Calais, so what were looking for is somewhere nice to stay, not necessarily a 5* hotel more a nice town and a cheap hotel(if that makes sense?).

Yup, Brugges and Le Touquet are the 2 places. Was in Brugges last week with the family. They loved it and want to go back.

I thought Le Touquet was st and full of drunk brits in football shirts.

Montreuil is much nicer IMO

yes

Just make sure you book Montreuil sur mer though as the other one will be full of Parisians...

Stayed in Hotel de France, they even removed several dining tables to let me park the TVR in the courtyard.

Arras is nice but not much to do during the night.
Its good fpr visiting ww1 sites and you have the tunnels under the town hall as well

Thanks for everyones input which was mostly helpful. Were all booked now, just staying outside Le Touquet in Berck and got nice cheap ferrys at £9.50each way smile

I took advantage of the £15 day return on the chunnel during half term. Spent the day in Brugges with the family.

Ferrys are with Norfolk line.


Were staying in rang-du-flyers (sp)at Mr bed Berck for £30 so cannot grumble smile

(Ben no mate were hanging onto the back of christine Blakley on her water skis hehe )
