First, some of what was shown there wasn't "top flight Rallying"; for instance, that Volvo Amazon was a classic club rally in Sweden IIRC. But it was a nice car having a big shunt on a rally

It is hard to know what "drama" one can put back into WRC without removing some of the safety that we've all taken for granted. I personally have nothing against that - so long as everybody proceeds in an informed manner - but it is hard to go back in life.

The closest I can come to squaring the circle is to ditch pace notes from all WRC events, which would mix things up a bit and reintroduce a much-needed edge to proceedings.
