2000 E46 325I Headlight Not working

A little help would be greatly appreciated.

Headlight went yesterday driving home, so bought some new ones and replaced them both (wallet now £24 lighter). Headlight still does not work.

Any guesses to anything simple that it might be ? fuse for instance ? I am an absolute novice when it comes to electrics !.

I have it booked into the local garage for a quick look, but they cant fit me in ubtil next Tuesday.
