It's my Bosses and his wife's 50th soon and a few of us were going to get them a photo session for the family. We want a "venture style" of session but I have heard some bad reports about hard sell etc. We are probably going to get circa 500 quid and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for studios near to Sunbury on Thames/Staines etc?

Thanks

Roger

Surely you'd travel for £500 though? wink

Any photographer worth his salt should be able to replicate the Venture look with ease.

The hard sell thing wouldn't worry me, but paying several hundred pounds for a single canvas print most certainly would! I have a friend who paid something ludicrous like £800 for a single print.

For that reason and many others I'd avoid Venture and use someone else local. If you can't find someone to give you a personal recommendation then at the very least view their work, agree what your money is going to get you in advance of the shoot and you (or your boss) should be more than happy with the result!

Horrible people! Take 50 pictures in 50 mins and aim to sell a print or two at a min of £500 - crooks. As said above its easy to replicate. Google local studio's

You've spotted the flaw in Dogsey's argument! But with the money the OP would save, he can come to Bloke HQ and still have enough left over for the petrol, a stone of monkey nuts, a fish supper and see George Formby at t' Palace Theatre...
