147 GTA exhaust centre pipe

Question for you fellow 147 GTA owners: mine's got the newer-configuration CSC rear section on it, which preserves and enhances the original sound very nicely, but I'd quite like a little bit more of that glorious sound so I'm considdering a straight-through centre pipe, i.e. without the central silencer stage; however, I gather that doing this on the 156 also deletes one of the cats and causes problems with the lambda probes. Anyone know if the same is true with the 147 / has anyone else done this? Thanks.

Putting in a straight-through mid section is fine. No cats, its simply removes a small silencer and makes it slightly louder. I've got the Supersprint backbox and unsilenced centre section on mine and its not as loud as you'd think - there are no lamda probes at that point either, so no worries about emissions or EML lights.

The GTA exhaust is roughly comprised of:

Backbox -> Centre section (with silencer) -> Main Cats (two) -> Downpipes -> Manifolds

There are 4 cats in total - two main cats directly under the car, and 2 pre-cats, one on each bank of the manifold. There are 4 lambda sensors too, one after each of of the main cats (so between main cats and downpipes) then two just before the pre-cats.

The big gains come from changing the manifolds (VERY expensive) and the downpipes, both of which are not cheap

Thanks Matty, very useful as ever . Had a good search around for straight-through CSC centre pipes, but am drawing a blank at the moment... With a bit of luck the supersprint or ragazzon pipes may be a direct fit though?

Why don't you have a chat with Pud and get your name down for one of the Wizard's centre section & backboxes. I think they're looking to do a 147 version soon.

CSC don't do a straight through pipe, you'll need to use either Ragazzon or Supersprint for that - alternatively just get down to a custom exhaust place, pretty straight forward so should be able to do you one fairly cheaply

Hi - I had the Autodelta back box & straight thru centre pipe on my 147GTA, so be honest it made it quite boomy under 2500rpm and when cold and did get a bit annoying......once warmed up it was ok though!
