iPhone 4g and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 - release dates???

Does anyone know when either of these phones are due to be released?

Xperia - no idea.

iPhone - probably late June/early July. Thats the date of the Apple WWDC conference, where it will probably be announced/released. The original iPhone (2007), 3G (2008) and 3GS (2009) were all announced at a similar time.

I am due an upgrade in the next couple of months but I want to hold off for both of these phones to see which one I prefer.

I can upgrade early and am waiting till the new iPhone comes out so I have upgraded to a rolling monthly sim only iPhone tariff as it's only £20 for 1200 texts and 600 mins then I can upgrade to the iPhone when it comes out

Mobile Fun have the Xperia as 29/3/10 and Carphone Warehouse have it down for March.

I doubt there will be a 4G! No 4G networks yet (apart from a trial in Slough I think).

However they'll possibly call the OS 4.0. What they'll call the new generation phone is anyone's guess. 3G+? 3GR? 3GS2? Even iPhone 4 but not iPhone 4G.

Industry insiders suggest this years Apple release wont be a 4th gen iPhone but an iPhone nano.

was Reading on a tech site that the 4g chips aren't being mass produced yet so what ever the iPhone is for 2010 it won't have 4g but that's not a worry for me as I think the take up for 4g will be slow

That rumour is as old as the iPhone itself! Personally, I can't see any point. Have you got links to anything 'new' about this or is the same old rumour from years ago?
