Replacing covers on E39 headlights
Discussion
I'm looking at an E39 and as like many cars in the middle east the clear plastic housing for the headlights has gone grey due to sand damage. I've checked a few other E39s and it seems a common problem.
Is it possible to replace the cover or will I need to source replacement headlight units? Costs either way would be a great help too.
Also, the rubber seal around the windscreen has deteriorated (another common issue in this climate) and needs replacing - what should I budget for that?
Thanks!

If its a later e39 with angel eyes then I think the headlights are a sealed unit.
If an ealier type then I think you can get the covers but the lights will leak (and steam up all the time)
It may not be much use but eurocarparts sell the hella headlights and (if its a non angeleye car) the adaptors for the wiring loom to adapt to angel eye fitment.
BMW dealers are very dear for the same parts. You may choose the ebay route but please get hella lights as the cheap copies are utter tosh.
I have no idea about the seal
