Why does that remind me of a film I saw once where some Nuclear blasts shifted the earth off its axis - I forget what it was called.

Maybe because both the news story and the film involved the shifting of the earth off it's axis?

As it says in the article:

If the planet's axis did shift by 8cm during the quake, days would have shortened by 1.26 microseconds, Mr Gross calculated.

A microsecond is one-millionth of a second.

I thought it got dark early last night.

News just in! We are hearing from UN Climet Scientists that cars that produce a large amount of Talks.. Torks? or something. Have through the action of pushing against the Earth when moving to alter the speed it rotates depending on the direction there were moving in.

This has thrown out all weather patterns, seasons, the female menstrual cycle, migration of birds, hybination, the exact timing of the Rapture, caused the foundations of Islam to be rocked as they do not know which time of day they have to pray to the east, an increase in anal rape and smallpox while increasing people PARANOIA!!!!

They do realise that the days will be slightly shorted in this season and in that hemispere right?

Are they really so stupid as to thing that the day will be shorter all year round and in all seasons?

Oh dear

I sorta think this could be all my fault

I'm sorry orrright

But SWMBO made me so upset and unnerved that I stamped my foot (after she'd gone out of course) really hard

I wont get in any trouble will I

oh dear

[still brighter side... any shorter days means she has less time every day to tell me off. phew! A result]

Are you really so stupid as to think they were talking about hours of daylight and not the earth's rotation?

So we lose a microsecond from our lives.

The donkey that calculated that has lost at least half a day from his.

I liked the sequel, "The day the earth's axis got shifted back again by another nuclear blast".
