You get some right idiots going down there, being a new driver I am always aware of my limits and am sure not to pass them. However a short while ago when I was going down there, at a pace I felt was comfortable for the conditions, but I still wouldn't have exceeded it much more. Out of nowhere comes a black Audi A3, who hits the brakes hard to avoid hitting the back of me on a tight left-hander, he then proceeds to overtake me, on what is a blind corner in the overtaking position he finds himself in. Cue a cyclist coming round the corner towards him. So Audi driver, forgets about me and swings back in-front, only avoiding sideswiping me because I had seen the cyclist and braked hard knowing the Audi might do something stupid. Was my closest near-miss yet.
Lets hope it was his debris you saw on the road. Might teach him how to drive.

Nothing this week so far on the bends.Car demolished the lampost backwards by stanley hill last week and at that same junction it seems loads of people keep trying to do scrub clearance on the Left.
Wednesday there was a truck stuck on the verge opposite Volvo in Pirbright, with a car destroying the Volvo verge. I will say the car was all over the place through there on wednesday.Combination of rain and then ice.

A friend of my son aged just 17 was killed there last year the same day as collecting his
exam results.
I know his father and the whole family are devastated.
Deano was a back seat centre passenger in a small car being driven too fast for the conditions
by a young inexpeiranced driver.
Sadly he wont be the last.

I was devastated by the accident which my friend was in, it really made me think twice, before a) taking a lift in a car full of teenagers or b)driving a full car of friends. I also get really upset when I see people driving like morons, just the thought that everyone in that car is at the mercy of the driver and his lack of experience. God, I'm scaring myself about driving anywhere now.

Well am just going through the process of assisting my eldest son to learn
about driving and avoiding problems, along with his driving lessons.
You may know him "Rob" who played for the same Rugby Club as Deano.
I used to have many a good joke with Deano and had watched him change from a chubby schoolboy to a fair front row forward.
Have alredy had a word with one of his chums who's driving is quite shocking for a new driver, along with other habbits.
Told him if my son is injured as a result of his actions he's better leave the country.

My son just got his licence 2 weeks ago.I have drummed it into him about danger. and how trees hurt and how he would have to live with it and how he may end up inside etc.In fact I drive him down the bends every day and point it out to Him.
Hes got the message but I think young drivers can get carried away.My 17 year old cousin was killed in 1978 in worplesdon.He was a passenger in his mates car and they hit a tree on the country lanes.
