ATC - They start them young!
Discussion
What a load of tosh. Blown out of all proportion.
No mention of these stories this week which are far more serious.

Reminds me of the scene in Airplane II when the kid took over ATC for a Shuttle landing.

There is a massive difference between telling a pilot (via the Father) over a radio to 'proceed to taxi' and letting a child take the seat of a plane. This is why its not such a good idea...
I didn't know that was one of the main reasons that you are not allowed in the cockpit during flight anymore.
Which reminds me when I was a child I always used to be able to 'see the pilot'. On a couple of occasions I addressed passengers relaying height, speed, whereabouts, etc, over the tannoy.

The Daily Mail have illustrated exactly why this is so dangerous by pointing out the American Airlines and TWA flights which crashed both took off from JFK.
Of course they omitted the fact that one crashed due to rudder failure and the other due to exploding fuel vapour.
Where do they get these piss pot journalists?

WTF. The aeroflot crash happened when a dad let his kids sit behind the controls of an aeroplane. This news story is about a dad telling his kids what to say over a radio.
They are not connected in any way whatsoever.

And the fact that both the Pilots didn't understand the Auto-Pilot fully.
