Just fitted my RG exhaust tonight... my god is it loud + bangs and pops like a machine gun too.

New they cost about £450 inc VAT. I got mine second hand for a lot less than that but its in purfect condition so I think it was a bargin. I went from a std to this and it is a bit extreme. I am keeping hold of the old exhaust for now in case I have to swap back or go for JP system which is a bit less loud.

I decided against a 'sports' exhaust for the reason mentioned and just went for the decats. They make it a little noisier and definitely crisper but not OTT or unbearable. It should still be track legal DB wise too.

Tailslide seems ok on most of the uk tracks he attends so I'm
hoping I will too...fingers crossed! Only time and the db meter will tell!

I fitted a RG supersport zorst to the wifes (ex) Tamora. Also put my decats in there as well. It was the best sounding TVR I have ever heard, ever!

Out of interest - I've got a J(original one) back box on my T350, how much louder in the cabin is it likely to make it if I were to fit a set of your de-cats? Also do you know if it's likely to pass an MOT and is a re-map needed? Finally what sort of cost are they and are there additional benefits such as heat reduction, smoother revving and flames?

Hi Tony, With a standard exhaust system and decats, the cabin noise should be about the same as with cats. Unless the car has a bespoke remap it is unlikely to pass an MOT but I would always recommend, at least, that a 3.6 decat chip from TVR power is fitted to get the most out of the mod. Even then its touch and go as to whether it will pass or not. It all depends how hot, tight, well balanced the engine is at the time. Both ours pass the MOT's however I know of others that don't. On both my Tuscan and the wifes ex Tamora, under bonnet temperatures are reduced, the engines are freer revving, they were "torqier" and, yes, we have flames
