hi ppl, just purschased a nice 2002 mini cooper, but the clutch is slipping slighty and was wondering if this is a common fault with the auto minis out there?
where is the gearbox oil top up located, was thinking this could be low and hence making it slip.

i did notice the powersteering fluid is on the low side, gather this wouldnt have any affect on the clutch slipping, just thought worth a mention.

anyone had a replacement done, any ideas on cost ???

thank you for any pointers you may have

Yes of course, my BMW auto (ZF box) has a twin clutch, it uncouples the engine from the box when at idle. It helps to keep the emmissions low, keep up at the back please...... wink

When i was three my mum bought me a tube of smarties, i found that one of them had no chocolate in it, i was horrified how could they sell a smartie with no chocolate in it, it didnt stop me eating smarties......

Maybe your model didnt have a clutch in it wink
