as some of you know I picked up a new bike before xmas. Evans offer a free 6 month service but outside of this you have to pay £55. I thought it was a bit of a joke that I spent a grand and missed the deadline by a couple of weeks but hey..

Basically the front brake is not tight, you can move the whole thing, its like it needs tightening to the frame, as the back one is solid on there..

So the bit at the back that goes into the frame pivots, but the only bolt I can see to tighten it up is the one on the right, is that the case?

Where the bit goes through the fork, there will be a female nut that is a 5mm allen key; tighten that whilst holding the brake central.

Once nice and tight, readjust the brake centering using the small phillips screw on the main part of the brake, loosening or tightening depending on whether it needs centering one way or the other.

Isn't hard at all, don't be nervous!

For more detailed info, follow the dual pivot information here: http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/tech/fix/?id=calipe...
