'Full BMW service history except the last three' does that mean the last three are missing,(not been serviced), or they are not BMW stamps?

£2.5K would be about right I think, assuming it has been serviced fully and it being rot/rust free.

It appears to be in very good order with decent history. The price does seem a little high to me given the engine it has.

A 325 could might that price but I think it's pretty ambitious for a 318. Thing is with cars like these, they are normally bought by the heart instead of the head so any yahoo could see it and think it's a steal. Vendors bank on those people seeing their ad.

thanks guys, it is a 'Ltd Ed' allegedly I am guessing that gives it a higher price even though it has the wrong engine...

I'm not an e30 expert, but from memory & a mate who had one, the last few run out cars were either 318s like this one in either this blue or a metallic green (his was green) with the interior striping on the seats or 325s with M sport bits & bobs. Whether that makes it truly a "limited edition" or a parts bin special, not sure, but don't think they were specially badged or named. Nice little summer runabout though, lovely colour.

Correct run-out model.

I have heard that they only made 200 of these, yes the idea is for a bit of summer fun and my wife loves the colour, as do I!

Is it the same 140 bhp unit as in the 318iS or the normal 318 engine?

This is on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LIMITED-EDITION-1992-BMW-318... with a bit more info, up to £2k so far I think. There are about 3 others on ebay as well. Like this -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1993-BMW-E30-318-I-CONVERTIB...

Was the limited edition green and blue only? I remember an old girlfriend having the keys to mummy's brand new K reg E30 cab which was metallic wine red. Damn, I should have stayed with her.
