Really enjoyed the first.

It wasn't the last word in driving dynamics, but the premise of the game was enjoyable, I'm looking forward to the second.

ETA:
Just found this!

"Atari has confirmed that its long-awaited Test Drive Unlimited 2 will be a Massively Open Online Racing (MOOR) game.

Developed with Eden Games, TDU2 is expected to "immerse" drivers in a persistent, online environment populated by multiplayer racing communities that compete, team up, and share achievements on a virtual track.

"Unlike any other driving games, TDU2 blends the open world experience with realistic vehicles and performance dynamics and for the first time features vehicle damage, weather effects, day and night cycles [along with] a brand new island to explore," said Atari CEO Jeff Lapin.

"Test Drive Unlimited 2 is 'always live,' with automatic updates and seamless online/offline integration. [In addition], a revamped single player narrative mode can be played offline or as part of the multiplayer experience."

According to Lapin, players will be able to define their online personas by customizing vehicles, acquiring property and buying clothing.

The game is also slated to include all-new race types, vehicle classes, environmental challenges and locations.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PCs in Fall 2010."

As long as they've made the roads smoother, so that you don't go flying off the road when you go over the sharp edges on the road it should be good.

Graphics look pretty good in some pictures, but in others it just looks like original TDU. Maybe they've dropped the quality for the pics to make us even more WOW'd when its released. biggrin

Really enjoyed TDU.
Here's hoping they actually support it properly this time though...

Looks to not be Hawaii this time either; the pictures look to be of a Mediterranean island.

Awesome!
Imagine all the new challenges...
Drive at high-speed along X bit of road, avoid killing any drunk people.
Collect Chardonnay from the Club and deposit her half-dead corpse at her apartment. Do not kill any drunken slags.

Awesome!! biggrin

Its safe to say i'm rather excited about this game. The first one might not have been technically be as good as other games, but it had a great feel to it.

Sounds like it could be a good replacement for Burnout Paradise...

Thats usually a car image licensing issue, rather than poor game writing by the developers. Many firms wont allow the image of their licensed vehicle to become sullied.
