I mean in the days of regular postings by stalwarts such as Nonegreen, Mrs Fish, Pwig, Chassis, Raf Dug, Mungo etc, or is it a case of looking back through rose coloured spectacles?.....
Just wondered what the PH massives thoughts were.....
No.

The cliques are now smaller, and although the recent influx of posters hasn't been great, I don't think the quality has suffered overly.

What is always interesting is people posting about old PH events and characters when they have only been members a few months. Makes me wonder who they used to post as.
Quite.I wouldn't expect to see anybody with less than 60 months under their belts to be posting on this thread.
There was certinly more science/engineering/techy stuff, which I miss.
OTOH, I go elsewhere for that these days!
I sense much more "brand image" stuff.
The politics hasn't changed, but the left wing defence has declined.
There seems to be less passion in the arguments, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

There was a lot less nastiness, and posters were generally a little more tolerant although I seem to recall getting 'binned' for insults was also more prominent.
One thing that does gnaw a bit is when you see new owners (esp in the more model specific fora) who are obviously new to the model suddenly becoming overnight oracles. They tend to forget that other owners of the same models with some amount of longevity have seen their cars pass from owner to owner.
That said the 'crack' is still good fun and at times most helpful.
