Does this thing have function other than supporting the silencer box? It's fairly hefty stuff held in place with big f**k off bolts; does it also add to the chassis rigidity? I'd consider knocking up something in an aero alloy if not. . . .

You wouldn't think so (well I didn't), but have a Google for "07b_brow.pdf" which is a R&D document of TVR chassis rigidity from Cranfield Uni (Neill Anderson one of the authors).

Somewhere in there is the difference the plate makes! It's actually quite large

and Rossi mastered them all! Can't see strokers coming back. They should never have gone 800's as the costs soared, should've stayed 990's with NO electronic aids. Seems like Quinneys got too much money too, putting it on Pedrosa
Don't forget gorgeous Jorge. Still going for Rossi myself.

Too right, strokers rule (Wish i'd never sold my RGV )
Mind you I was at Donington when WCM raced their old Yamaha against the 4 strokes,
it sounded like a scooter compared to the wall of sound the 990's made!
