The Tuscan S Red Rose has 390bhp and a better aero dynamic package than the 4.5 Cerbera but has anyone seen these two face off against each other on a track?

Also there is an option for a close ratio gearbox on these cars, I guess the ratio of the gears stay the same its just the length of the gate that changes right?

Any idea of how much the Red Rose extra costs?

Thanks in advance

a close ratio gearbox means gear ratios close together to maximise acceleration, a 'short shift' type device is to reduce the movement of the lever. think you are getting muddled.

Red rose is now Tuscan S. I imagine a S and a 4.5RR would be pretty similar around a track.

You probably wouldn't be too far behind either of them in a Tamora, due to it being a bit lighter, having 360bhp and handling a fair bit better. Ok you might loose out if it was a fast track, but take them somwhere wiggly and I think it would be close....

out of interest, what is different about the Tamoras suspension which makes it handle better?

There is absolutley no difference whatsoever between the Tuscan chassis and the Tamora. No doubt they have learnt lessons with the chassis and the Tamora has benefitted significantly from this, and therefore is "sorted" straight out of the box in comparison with the early Tuscans.

I have been told that the shorter overhangs and lighter body, and more responsive steering rack make the difference between them....I have driven both "back to back" and there is a big difference between the way the two "feel" .......although I'm not a good enough driver to tell exactly what it is...

I understand that the Tamora and Tuscan share the same chassis, just different bodies. There were some modifications to the chassis completed during the development of the Tamora and this is incorporated in to this years Tuscans as well.

the chassis' may be the same but different springs, spring rates, shocks and bushes will make a huge difference....I bet the geometry adjustments are different too

Cerbera RR is much more a racecar than the TuscanS.

I've driven both and the Cerbera is definately faster than a S and has a better high speed stability.

Compare the engine noise and the popping and banging and you'll end with owning a Cerbera RR.

RR conversion is 2500 GBP and it's worth every penny.

If you are looking for a secondhand RR one, check my profile. My beastie has to go for a Tuscan R...
