Mazda 3Mps

So I know these cars are quick the 2.3 turbo think pushes out about 260bhp. They were using them at Thruxton a year or so back as an intro to the track when I did a days arcing.

So slot of car for the money, I'm going for a test drive soon.

But what sort of economy can I expect from one of these most of mileage is motorway?

Anyone own or knows anything

According to real world MPG figures on here they get 35 on a run

But I often head down the coast and just thought I'd ask. Anyone driven or own and advise?

I had a test drive and loved it ... the salesman did actually warn me about poor consumption - he was talking 20-25mpg !

No, but if its going to guzzle fuel like its going out of fashion you might as well just buy an Evo.

Focus sound great but drink loads and are a bit nose heavy, Mazda/Golf get my vote

My Mazda 6 MPS (same engine, bit heavier, 4WD) does 22 round town, just over 30 on a long run and averages 27-28 overall. This is on 99ron V-power or Tesco, expect less of everything on lower ron petrol. Being lighter and wrong wheel drive should mean the 3 MPS gets a few more MPG than mine.

The 3MPS is rarer and usually forgotten when it comes to this kind of vehicle.

Probably quicker than the other two, maybe the ST might have more legs because of the 0.3cc more.

Very very capable and understated car. I'd consider one.
Just buy carefully. There are alot that have already been in the hands, albeit briefly, of the criminal fraternity, on false plates, thrashed, and recovered.

Found an ex demo one on '59' plate and list on the road price is £21,960 and they have priced at £19500, what do reckon they would take for it as the salesman said

How many months old is it?

Main dealers normally write the Demos back at 3% a month.

Do the math.

Northwood Mazda by me in Cowes have a really nice 2010 Mazda 3 MPS ex demo for sale in white with 1350 miles on. It's as new on a 59 plate. The website is asking £18,999 but these don't shift easily on the island so they will take a bit less than that. I'd try for £18,000 dead, or even a little bit more. I use them a lot and they are decent people to deal with. Might well be worth a ferry ride from hampshire. . . . .

I'd prefer a Mazda3 or even the 6 to the others as it is very understated and an unknown quantity to non-petrolheads. Plus they have AWD which many dislike as it takes 'feel' out of driving, but I like it.

I like the 6MPS, but prefer the 3 due to the looks really.. Thats the good thing about them though, the fact not everyone has one.
