Search Problems.....

I know you're working on overhauling the search etc etc and this in't the usual problem I don't think.

Is there a minimum string length for a search?

I was looking for a particular thread that I knew had been posted in GG.

It was this thread - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0... a Car

I knew it has been posted this year and knew it was about cleaning a car - I also knew it had some waxes mentioned in it to reccomend.

So I used the advanced search function - put in wax, selected general gassing and the last three months.... and got no results???

I eventually found the thread searching for "polish"

So how come it works for one word but not for others?

I've had a quick look and it seems that the new search box will only search for terms containing 4 or more characters, rather than the 3 or more it should be doing.

I'll have a look and see if we can get this changed.
