Clutch is breaking down

Does someone knew what it is wehen you step on the clutch pedal and you can not put in a gear. When the Car(the engine after ca. 5 miles)is warm you can change the gears easiely, but if the car is cold you can´t get in a gear.
The way of the clutch pedal is very lang and when the car is cold teh clutch does no disconect.

try bleeding the clutch to get the air out, it does sound like air is getting in the system somewhere.

Is there fluid in the master cylinder and is it clean?

sounds low on fluid, check the level in the reservoir. Could be a leaking slave or master cylinder.

Sounds exactly the same symptoms as mine. I took the top off the clutch master cylinder and found lots of little black bits floating in the fluid - the seals had perished. Time for a new cylinder.

Of course it could be something else!

How difficult is it to change the seals?
I have a small leak in mine, I've not really investigated it yet but believe it to be the seals in the master cylinder.

A seal kit is about £12, easy to do but a new master cylinder isn't too expensive. You will need a spring probably also if you just make your old one good, I got hold of some better quality ones a while ago. Do a search on here, I put a link on the thread at the time.

Yeah I did a very quick look and noticed one for £55 I think it was. Not sure if thats a good price or not but thought that was probably cheep enough not to worry changing seals, cylinder of cylinder on job done and then maybe do the seals and sell it on ebay at later date.

On the bright side, after 3 hours in the original London Thunder traffic my clutch pedal went to the floor. I was expecting the worse but it slowly came back after letting the car cool and was fine when out on the open roads.
I bled my clutch fully through, flushing it through with 2-3 litres because I found black bits/dirt in the master cylinder. I sucked those out with some tubing, kept adding fluid till I cleaned it all up..

It's been fine since.

just done master cylinder (£55) wasnt worth mucking about with the seals for that price. Getting bottom bolt out was fun though, Metal putty helped with holding bolt head on refit.

Is it a TVR Part or can it be sourced from elsewhere?
I've not really had a close look at mine!

No took them off after that. I wasn't convinced the cats were doing any good having a huge heat source next to the gearbox/clutch and heating the cabin in summer.

if you find black bits in the master cyl it will be the slave cyl in the g/box
had it 2 times . dont re seal waste of time

The Slave seal on mine is a real pain! If I leave the car alone for over 3 weeks, the clutch wont work, I have to rebleed it, then it works fine.
If I drive the car regularly, then I never have a problem. Obviously something is wrong somewhere - The slave was replaced 2 years ago, and only done under 5k since then.
