Nasty

if you have access to a MIG welder you could try popping a nut over the busted bit if theres any sticking out of the caliper and then filling the threaded hole in the space over the nipple with weld

The heat of the welding action will also act to "crack" the grip of the nipple in the caliper, which is usually stuck when you come to slacken it anyway due to roadside salt and other assorted $H1T that acummulates there

I had to do this for a mate last summer on a classic old Rover P4 belonging to his local vicar

dont ask!

I hope this can help you

worked for me

BUT

Welding on a car with the battery connected CAN damage ECUs, alternators and such electronics

Get the stereo code first so you can disconnect the earth terminal

However desperate you are DON'T use an easy out. If it was so tight it snapped off then an easy out wont stand a chance. If you're careful you might be able to drill out the remainder of the nipple and then re-tap the thread.

Bleed it through the broke hose banjo nut instead.

The OP did say he caught it and broke it off, I still advise a welded on nut

it works often, used it a few times for jobs like this

Thank's all for the advice i just got a new calliper at cost of £130.00 as exchange unit .

After all none of us like spending money but it's the brake's also there was no chance of welding apart from welding which mine is broken sod's law .

Needed car asap so had to fork out the penny's .
