Broadband suddenly stopped working
Discussion
Just switching from Testicle to Plusnet - various reasons I won't go into here. Got Plusnet up and running last night with the Tiscali wireless router, and worked fine all day today. Switched PC off, but when I came to use it again, no broadband. Same on the other machine.
The PCs can find full signal strength on the router, but the Internet light is flashing away (Siemens SE587 IIRC).
I am awaiting a response from Plusnet but in the meantime wondered if anyone can say why it has suddenly packed in ?
(Using 3G stick to access this !)

Are you using ADSL? did you change your plusnet email or account password?? if so did you change the password on the router to match? The PCs can find full signal strength on the router, but the Internet light is flashing away (Siemens SE587 IIRC).

Usually when changing over providers you have to leave the router on for approx 10 days for them to do line tests i.e. ramping up the speed until the connection becomes unstable so that they know what the fastest stable speed you can get is.
If you turn the router off whilst they do these tests they can get false readings and give you a lower speed unintentionally.
Otherwise, give them a ring to see if there is a fault.
