Hi all. My wife to be and I are looking for wedding venues in the Yorkshire area (she is from Leeds). Does anybody have any recomendations?

Quirky is fine

Would consider halls, church halls, even considering museums etc..

Any help much appreciated.

talk to Dine, the catering company.

Personally I think they're a ripoff fantastic business model, but they have the great venues all stitched up//

We nearly did Yorkshire, but went with my home county Cambs instead, better weather...

How far away from Leeds do you mind going.

My brother had a family and friends get together to celebrate his wedding at Simonstone Hall outstide of Hawes

Lovely setting and on the Buttertubs route - what more do you need for a PH'er?!

I'd recommend Wood Hall near Wetherby, Allerton Park just off the A1 near Knaresborough and Hazlewood Castle off the A64 near Tadcaster.

I can recommend a band for a wedding. Check out www.highwaychild.org

A great Soul Rythem and Blues review band... Think Blues Brothers, Stevie Wonder, James Brown and more....... The tenor sax player in the band is amazingly talented!

I would recommend not getting married, can't see the point. Spend it on fuel!

Some really good ideas thanks people. A few have made the shortlist so I'll report back once we've picked one. Got a weekend planned viewing a few.

Started a new thread on more the more important matter of a wedding car if anybody has any ideas.

Roundhay Mansion (Roundhay Park, Leeds) has been recently refurbished and is a great venue for a wedding. It is operated by Dine. Daniel Gill will take care of you. His father, David, was the guy behind Pool Court (formally Leeds' best michelin starred restaurant).

Also, went to a wedding last October at Harewood House. They did a superb job. Probably not cheap though. Rudding Park is also very nice (expensive). Again, on reflection, if you want an outstanding venue but not lose your shirt, I'd seriously look at The Mansion at Roundhay.

We looked at this place as we quiet often go there for a meal if you want a small wedding it would be good and quiet reasonable.

Harewood is nice but depending on where you have it you can be very close to the public on there day out.
