According to this some Oxford students have been suspended for an email comparing the relative merits of various female students.

What exactly is the problem here? Men grade women, women grade men, women grade each other come to that.

I imagine the criteria were depersonalising, truthful and cutting. Think of the feelings of the poor mites.

Having some sort of algebraic code would've made more sense

It's possible the Beeb have reported this in a somewhat conservative manner, and so missed the point of the story.

Here's the Telegraphs take on it:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/7378166/Fif...

The Mail, yes, yes, I know, but Google throw it up, added this. Not mentioned by the Beeb or Telegraph, so could be usual Mail imagination though:

Daily Mail said:
But what has worried university chiefs is the suggestion they planned similar 'crewdates' with A-level pupils at £9,345-a-year Oxford High School for Girls.
They were exposed after approaching daughters of university staff. At least three fellows of Hertford College have daughters at the school and it was from them that college authorities learned A-level students had been invited.
Last night the mother of one of the girls, who did not want to be named, said: 'Many people at the school aged 17 and 18 got invitations from the club.'

Grading is OK, that list sounded like some kind of rape-list. A bit seedy.

Worst "I don't have a rape list" post, ever.

Mine aren't just ticked off.

They're positively livid.

Is this the bus to hell? I'll have the window seat, please.
