Sigma 150-500 IS
Discussion
I hate zooms [my only zoom being a standard 18-55IS canon] however a friend has recently been getting great results with this mid size Sigma, when used at F8-F9
I really could do with a Summer usage Walkabout Zoom of this focal range. My previously tried Canon 100-400'L' IS wasn't good enough for my purposes
DOes anyone have the Amateur Photographer test on the Sigma150-500/Tamron 200-500 which they published I believe in March last year, which they could email me scans of please
I've searched online and although there are several brief reviews of the Sigma there's no full test on the lens. It would be nice to see AP's test before I decide whether to buy one.
Or if anyone knows af a website which features this test perhaps you could insert a link

Canon 100-400 wasn't anywhere near sharp, I also had the same probs with canon 70-200 'L' F2.8 IS.
After losing so much money on these 2 lenses, I've stuck with Canon 'L' primes. til I saw photo's taken with 150-500 sigma which look reasonbly sharp, when used at F8-9 which would be Ok for my Summer use.
Maybe I was unlucky with my zooms, However I recently purchased a standard 18-55 IS 'Kit Lens' which is excellent. Restored at least some faith in Zooms.
