Can anyone tell me the best place to book an experience place for my parents please?

They live near Selby-ish.

Yup Pocklington is a good bet I went up there a few times in my late teens although it seems its mostly aero-tow and no winch when I've been past recently which meens you lose the cack your pants moments!

Depends on what sort of experience you want to give you parents, adrenalin rush or something pleasant

winched launch glider 0-60 in 3 to 4 secs then climb at 45 degrees to 1200 / 1500 ft before releasing the cable, so it can be bit hectic for some .......think Caterham track day

Balloon flights last a bit longer and are gentler, plus your parents can go up together and talk to each other ......think coach trip

I'm thinking the balloon flight with champagne looks the nicer option and longer experience, not cheap but I'm sure it'll be worth it. They have bailed me out so many times, I really want to treat them now I'm "grown-up" smile

Hmmmm, gentle isn't the word I'd use to describe crash landing, noone injured but two people made a rather sooner than expected exit from the basket! Having said that loved it and doing it again in a few months time.

My wife is on a Virgin Champagne flight on early Sun Am from York - looks fab. I'm following them below in one of our Caterhams which should be fun too.

Did Gliding at Pocklington - interesting but wouldn't go again.

Cheers

Scott.

Wonder if you get airmiles with those?

Rach, bad experience on the ballooning. My wife was really looking forward to it and we'd mad loads of arrangements so she could enjoy it.

We called the number last night to check if flight was still on to hear a recorded message a couple of days old saying no flying.

I understand that the weather needs to be right but a two day old recoded message is poor IMHO.

frown That's not good, shame they can't phone people personally when you're paying so much! Blimey. Sorry to hear that.

Who was that booked with?

We have done the Virgin balloon from the Knavesmire was fantastic. You are at the mercy of the weather as it has to calm.

Landing is interesting - no wheels!
