I went out to a club last night for the first time in about 4 years last night. Danced all night and got very drunk, but had more than a few funny looks. do you think 58 is too old to go clubbing once in a while? How old were you when you last went on a proper clubbing night out?

I think you should do what you want, if you had a good night that is all that matters, I also think it depends on the club. At 58 you will get some funny looks, but what the hell.
I think I was about 30 when I last went clubbing and I felt a little out of place but I had a good night.

Depends on the club, if you'd have been in a reflex or flares you would have fitted right in.

Nightclub.
Suspect people think you're looking to pick up young women rather than going for the music, then. "Dirty old man" must have been muttered a few times. (Actually, in retrospect, my question was daft as you said you got drunk; drunk people tend not to be found in decent clubs; whether it's because they don't serve alcoholic drinks or they're just so expensive, I can't remember.)

The sad state of affairs is such that I can get away with being in over 30s events and pick up single mothers.

yes.

I was working in Cambridge a few months ago with some colleagues. We went out ended up in a club.

Jesus I felt out of place, all the people in there looked about 12.

and I'm 38 mind you I never liked clubs even when I was younger

Do what you want. It's your life. Own it.

Usually see a 60 plus in my local clubs I swear he goes out every night. He goes out by himself and talks to people and gets a fair amount of postive attention due to his age.

I'm 47 and still like to go clubbing every now and again. Love dancing. Why let age stop you?

As long as you aren't one of the creepy old men who go alone to student club nights, I see no problem with it.

Someone wanted to fight me last night at a club, apparently they couldn't handle a bit of a push during a rage against the machine song.

I'm 18 by the way.

Never too old, you may just have to be choosy about the clubs you pick if you want to feel comfortable.

No matter your age you can usually find a place that has your kind of crowd if you look hard enough!

I say, carry on until you don't want to do it anymore - we only live once.
