After having my fill of the non/poor English speaking Virgin customer service and slowing BB, I have decided to look for another ISP.

Can anyone suggest a good performing/good value Broadband only package from a solid provider?

Thanks
Cad

www.bethere.co.uk haven't let me down. O2 also run over their network and have cheaper monthly packages if you are an O2 customer

Only any good if you are on their LLU exchanges. Their 'Access' product is quite bad by all accounts.

I am on an LLU'ed exchange and couldn't be happier with O2/Be*.

Zen deserve a mention for being truly superb, and helping out in a clinch as well with a SOHO setuo, but it is a more expensive product. FWIW, if money wasn't a concern, I' be with Zen now for home use.

I went from Virgin to bethere but only because I moved to a non-cable area. BB was rock soild on cable but they (Virgin) were useless from a customer service point of view. Over billed me for 4 months, then didn't bill me at all for another 4 months followed by taking all the arrears in one big DD without notifying me. Got it sorted in the end thankfully. No issues with bethere at the moment. First 3 months free then about £20 a month. Static IP address and stable high-speed connection, no bandwith-strangling during peak hours, no upload/download limits etc.
