Can I restore the backup from one phone onto a different phone?

Just bought Mrs HC a new toy, just wondering whether I can sinc hers with mine in one command?

yes, did it a couple of months ago myself. Can't remember the exact steps but was very straightforward. i think it was just a case of change SIM then connect the new one to itunes
