As we all know every speed camera is placed in an accident black spot.... Right ??

Well what is an accident black spot ? As i understand it, an ABS (accident black spot) is a road where there have been 3 or more fatal accidents in the last 3 years.

Therefore if someone is flashed by a camera that is later proved not to be in an ABS, is there any legal way round the fine, or even better get the camera removed ?

I am not in this position myself but i think the police would be very grateful if motorists made them aware of areas where cameras were unnecessarily placed ??
Wouldn’t they ?

There is no rule that a camera has to be placed at an accident blackspot.

The guidelines say they should be, but guidelines are there so you can imply to the media that they're rules and you're following them whilst completely ignoring them in practice without being at all accountable.
