bath panel

Hi, I've just bought a new bath panal and its to big!! whats the best way to cut it? dont want it to split etc

If its plastic or fibreglass I'd go with a fine tooth hand saw.

I've trimmed plastic bath sides using a stanley knife to slowly score the inside face and then gently repeat scoring along the score line.

After about 3 cuts it goes through leaving a smooth cut which can be sanded down.

Make sure to lay the bath side on a firm but soft surface (spare piece of wood plank is good for this).

As Binns, in the absence of specialist kit I'd vote for a tenon saw, or possibly a jigsaw which is quicker but more violent - depends how strong the plastic is and how clean the edge needs to be.
