Now, I have scoured the net and have sussed having a separate Library on an iTunes account. Before I start uploading new CD's to my iPod how can I prevent losing what is already on there? I don't want to sync my iPod and lose the days of music I already have on it?

Who's done it and how?!

I have 2 ipods on my computer, and it's simple. You can treat each ipod as completely seperate. No messing with the library at all. What you CAN do, if you must have different music on each then you can simply use the playlists, and drag and drop whatever music you want ont ipod 1, and sync that, and the same for ipod 2. OR you can just do it all manually. It's entirely up to you.

Never used the '2 libraries' thing, and never heard of it. I've heard of 2 accounts, but not libraries.

I'd do it that way as well.

One iTunes, one library, 2 playlists - one for each ipod. Connect ipod 1, sync playlist 1. connect ipod 2, sync playlist 2.

What if you've got two I-Pods (well Phones) in a house each with a seperate I-Tunes account but with just one libary?

I've never really used the Playlists, just synced whatever new music is on the machine. Do me and the girlfriend need to log in and out of each others account to make I don't end with her Alanis Morrisette and she doesn't end up with my Rage Against the Machine? hehe

I don't have 2 accounts, just the one. I synce all music to both, but the idea with the playlists is to have a playlist for each iPod. You then sync whichever playlist with whatever account. I have never used the 2 accounts, but from what I've read it might be easier than using playlists, (as you don't have to go to the playlist, it will simply be like every other ipod, if you know what I mean.

I think you would need to log out, and in with the new account with each iPod.
